Andrea is a mother, a grandmother, a registered yoga teacher, a HearthMath® Certified Clinical Coach and Trauma Certified HeartMath Professional, a certified integrative medicine health coach, and a jewelry designer. Her background is as eclectic as her jewelry designs. She was a TV news reporter in the 80s. As she covered more environmental disasters, she became concerned about environmental issues, so she became an environmental activist. Andrea then realized that our real hope was in the classroom teaching children, so she went back to school and got two advanced degrees in education from the University of Virginia-- an M. Ed. in Science Education, and an Ed.S. in Curriculum and Instruction. She taught science and journalism at the high school level for 10 years and college-level education courses for eight years. TEACHING IS HER PASSION.
Andrea had always practiced yoga since she was young to help deal with anxiety. But when her mom got sick with Alzheimer's and she got sick with Hashimoto's, she left the traditional classroom and went back to school to learn how to heal. So, two more degrees and lots more certifications in yoga teaching and health coaching, including Functional Nutrition, Digestive Intensive Certificate, Memory Maintenance yoga teacher certification, Restorative Yoga Teaching Certification, HearthMath® clinical certification in managing stress and anxiety and emotional regulation, and now Somatics Teaching and HeartMath Resilient Heart Trauma certification, she can officially say she now has the tools to manage stress, stay emotionally regulated and help others to do the same. This is her mission.
